아홉 번째 시간에는 Jackie Calmes와 Binyamin Appelbaum의 “Push for Yellen to Lead at Fed Gathers Steam”을 다루었습니다.

Push for Yellen to Lead at Fed Gathers Steam

Fed

Gather steam

Janet L. Yellen told friends in recent weeks that she did not expect to be nominated as the next chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Be nominated as

‘Be nominated as’는 ‘~의 후보자로 지명되다’입니다.

Although she had been the Fed’s vice chairman since 2010 and would make history as the first woman to hold the job, President Obama’s aides made clear throughout the summer that he wanted Lawrence H. Summers, his former chief economic adviser.

Make history

‘Make history’

Second, despite their frustrations, these production managers felt that they were making history and that John was an inspired leader.

Former
